Environmental / Gardening groups

  • The Growing Network (Battle) is community sharing event happening every month, encouraging free giving and taking of home grown produce, plants, seeds, knowledge and friendship. Everyone welcome, pop along for a cuppa and a chat. Follow their Facebook Page
  • Beautiful Battle is a group of volunteers planting and maintaining some lovely public areas of our town
  • Battle(ing) the Garden is described as “Gardeners and allotment holders in and around Battle, East Sussex to share photos of achievements/ challenges, ideas, seeds and plants”
  • Wild About Battle is an active group who get involved with many environmental / growing / allotment activities
  • Battle Community Allotment is an active group who manage an allotment plot at Cherry Gardens
  • Battle Area Green Drinks is a gathering of green-thinking individuals who like a chat and a drink. Normally [but not always] in the back room of the Chequers Pub on the 10th of every month at 7:30pm
  • Battle Community River Watch is a small group of volunteers doing ‘citizen science’ by testing water quality around Battle

  • Battle Yarn Bombers get busy covering the town with fantastic knitted characters and decorations throughout the year
  • U3A crafting group meets 10am on the third Tues of the month. If you attend this then let us know what goes on so that we can add a bit more detail here.
  • Battle Arts Group meet monthly, and have workshops and painting sessions, have a public event, and produce a calendar

  • Souvenir Normand have activities and trips based around those countries which have Norman influences
  • Battle Twinning Association are associated with Battle’s twin-town Saint Valery sur Somme, with visits and social events
